About R&E
The Office of Research and Evaluation supports excellence in undergraduate education through a
comprehensive program of research and evaluation studies. Reporting to the Dean of Undergraduate Education, our primary purpose is to help the Dean, other campus decision-makers, and program administrators make informed decisions about curricula, programs and policies affecting undergraduate education at UCI.

Zoreh Soltani - Principal Curricular Analyst I perform undergraduate institutional research, analysis and reporting, focusing on all aspects of the curriculum including enrollment trends, breadth and key courses, majors and minors, and degree changes. I serve as campus expert on research and evaluation related to undergraduate education, curriculum, courses, programs and policies. I conduct on-going and ad-hoc comprehensive research and evaluation designed to address issues related to undergraduate education.
Judy Shoemaker, Ph. D. - Director The best part of my job is working with the staff to design and carry out research and evaluation studies to answer important questions about undergraduate education at UC Irvine. Another highlight is getting to work with my counterparts at other UC campuses on the UC Undergraduate Experience Survey (UCUES), a biennial survey of all undergraduates in the UC system. I'm also a consultant for the Council on Educational Policy, a member of the Steering Committee for the WASC Reaccreditation Process, and a member of the DUE management team. During the last two years I've assisted faculty from the Henry Samueli School of Engineering on the assessment of student learning outcomes.
John Selegean - Data Coordinator I am a UCI alumnus, and have worked in the office since November 1, 2007. Prior to R&E, I worked in the UCI Office of Instutitional Research. My major responsibilities include data systems and research analysis.
Dianna Mendoza - Research Specialist I am the office manager in the Office of Research and Evaluation. My duties also include data analysis, research projects and course evaluations.
